This is a GATES CB-500 M5739 17-inch broadcast turntable, originally manufactured for professional radio station use.
This was a standard model widely used at radio stations and other broadcast facilities during its era.
Evidence of the previous owner’s careful maintenance over many years can be seen in both its excellent cosmetic condition and smooth operation. Switching between the three speeds—33, 45, and 78 RPM—is smooth and quiet.
The motor operates extremely smoothly, with virtually no abnormal noise or noticeable speed fluctuation.
